Soo it's been a few weeks since this blog has been updated, our apologies, but we have honestly just been having to much fun to sit down at the computer for a half an hour or an hour and write :)
Brenna last wrote about Berlin and since then we have been through Prague, Vienna, Dubrovnik, and today is our last morning in the Cinque Terre. So lets begin...
Prague!!
Prague was  a great city, minus the rain that we had almost every day that we were there! We stayed in this hostel, which is actually an elementary school that is converted into a hostel during the summer, called Hostel Olet. We kind felt like we were in a concentration camp because there we literally just tiny beds set up in the middle of a class room, with the nice added touch of childrens artwork all over the walls. It turned out to be really fun though, we got a huge room to ourselves, along with Jillian (one of Lilys friends) and Lily, who followed us to Prague for the three nights.
On the first day we were all pretty tired, so we just grabbed some food and went back to the hostel to play some games and went to bed early. We woke up the next morning and it was raining, but decided to go into town anyways. After an hour of debate we finally joined a free walking tour that took us through the older part of the city and up to Prague Castle. It was about three hours of walking in the rain, but we had a good time non the less. Prague castle is huge, I think I read somewhere that it is the oldest midevil castle in Europe, someone may need to fact check me though.
Over then next couple days we did a little walking and a lot of sleeping and lying around in our hostel playing games and drink delicious Czech beer, which is, no joke, cheaper than water!!! One night we met up with two girls that we actually met in our Berlin hostel for some food and beer. On the 4th of July we met up with some friends from Western, Lauren and Jill, who are both studying abroad in Prague this summer. They took us out to a really nice Asian dinner and then we went back to their place before going out. We met a ton of their friends from all over the state and a large group of us went down to this club to celebrate the 4th! It was a really fun night and especially fun seeing people from back home.
On the last day we slept in until about 1pm, grabbed some burgers from this place called Yes Burger, delish, then slept some more before catching our 10pm train to Vienna.
All in all Prague was really fun...I know I missed a lot of detail, but I pretty much covered everything relativly important and worth knowing!
Vienna!!
Ill just start off by saying I think Vienna is my least favorite place and I can probably speak for everyone else in the group as well. The hostel we stayed in was way outside of town and kind of a dump. I mean the rooms were nice but they really had nothing else to offer us but a bed.
We got to Vienna at 6am and couldnt check into our hostel until 2 I believe or maybe even later than that. So we dropped our bags off and headed out to find some breakfast. The boys really wanted and "American" breakfast, bacon and eggs, but there was no chance of finding that in Vienna, but we walked aroud searching for it anyways. After and hour of walking and no food, we decided to catch the train into town. After walking around town for an hour we still hadnt found anything so unfortunatly we had to resort to McDonalds and Starbucks! At around 9 we decided to do a tour of the city on one of those Hop on Hop off buses. Dont ever ever do that. The information and the audio on those buses is so dry and after having traveled for 10 hours it literally put everyone to sleep. We spent 18 bucks just to fall alseep on the bus. We did get off at a few stops, but there really wasnt much to see.ube riv
On the second day we headed out to the Danube River and spent the day swiming and relaxing.
So thats pretty much is for Vienna...really nothing exciting happed, probably because our hostel was so far out of the way and we were all really tired. We also only spent two days there!
The group split up after Vienna, Jonny and Erik headed to Rome and they are now in New York. The five of us, Nick, Alan, Emma, Brenna, and myself went south to Dubrovnik!!
DUBROVNIK IS AMAZING AND THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH! And because of this is deserves its own post, with lots of descriptive detail, but unfortuanly I dont have time to write about it just yet.
We are leaving for Florence this morning so I will write more when I get there!
